CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment

If you prefer to have non-evasive cosmetic treatments to improve your skin, CO2 laser skin resurfacing treatment will give you the rejuvenated look you want without painful surgery.

What is CO2 laser treatment?

CO2 laser skin resurfacing is a safe procedure that treats fine lines and wrinkles by removing skin tissue and encouraging the growth of collagen.  It also improves skin tone, acne scars, liver spots, sun damage and enlarged pores.

Is it painful?

Co2 laser treatment can be slightly painful and for this reason, you will be given a local anaesthetic or a numbing cream to make you more comfortable during the procedure.

How is it carried out?

The treatment is carried out using a fine laser. The light beams penetrate the skin and remove the damaged layers. You are then left with a new layer of soft new skin that looks and feels fresh and youthful.

Do I need to stay indoors or take time off work after the treatment?

Yes, you will need time to recover. You won’t be in pain, but your face will be red and puffy. It usually takes a week or two before your face looks normal if you apply make-up. It will take a few weeks before your skin has completely recovered. This is because your old skin layers are peeling away, revealing the new skin underneath and this will take some time.

How do I take care of my face after the treatment?

We will give you instructions on how to treat your skin after the procedure. You will have to apply plenty of cream to keep your face moisturised, especially during the first few days.

Will I need more than one procedure?

That all depends on what you need. Some procedures only need one treatment, while others need more. Your treatment will be tailored to suit you.

How long do the results last?

The results of CO2 laser treatment usually last several years. Obviously, the way you treat your skin will have an impact. Smoking and exposure to the sun will damage the new skin layer. Using a sunscreen and moisturising your skin regularly will ensure that the results last longer.
