Sebaceous Hyperplasia
Sebaceous hyperplasia is a common, benign condition of sebaceous glands in adults of middle age or older. Lesions can be single or multiple and manifest as yellowish, soft, small papules on the face (particularly nose, cheeks, and forehead). Electrolysis is a safe, effective, quick and affordable method of treating sebaceous hyperplasia.
Sebaceous hyperplasia is a disorder of the sebaceous gland in which they become enlarged, they may present themselves as milky yellow doughnut shaped lesion.
There are 2 techniques used to treat sebaceous hyperplasia:
1. A probe is used to scrape away excess skin leaving the lesion to with a slight graze appearance
2. A probe is inserted into the sebaceous hyperplasia in a vertical fashion drying up the contents
Slight tingling sensation may be experienced during either procedure.
